An Analysis of the Relationship Between Professional Autonomy and Professional Motivation of Teachers

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between teachers' professional autonomy and motivation levels. sample research, which was conducted using correlational survey design, consists 282 teachers working across Turkey in 2021-2022 academic year who were sampled by disproportionate cluster sampling method. “Teacher Autonomy Scale'' Vocational Motivation Scale” used as data collection tools. In analysis data, t-test, one-way variance, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient Regression Analysis used. results yielded that levels are high. It found exhibited sub-dimensions teaching autonomy, curriculum development communication respectively. has been revealed consider physical facilities school, intramural extramural factors, aspects prestige factors affecting motivation. terms variables, significant differences according gender, field, graduation seniority. Finally, moderate positive relationships identified their predictive these variables also examined. line with results, it all teacher (teaching, curriculum, development, autonomy) predictors one sub-dimensions. Therefore, can be stated when act autonomously both educational practices fields provided qualified opportunities, increase, too. order increase motivation, recommended support autonomous behaviors process communication.
